July 27 - The Last Voyage in the Black Pearl
This page is again from your webmaster, Gerry Flinn
On
Tuesday, July 27, Fred, Joan, Gayle, and Gerry made a day trip from the
Atlantic Marina to the Baltimore Inner Harbor on the Black Pearl. This
turned out to be the last voyage Fred and Joan made on their boat, as it is
scheduled to be pulled out of the water on Wednesday, and cleaned up before
being offered for sale. Fred and Joan have done the Chesapeake to the
extent of their interest and are ready to head back to California. The
Black Pearl has been a good boat for them.

The day in Baltimore was very pleasant. The Inner Harbor is a nice tourist and entertainment area. A well done project that should be a example for other American cities. To see the many sites you can buy a day pass on the water taxis that run every few minutes.
One of the sites we visited was Fort McHenry where Francis Scott Keys saw the American Flag still standing during the War of 1812 and wrote the Star Spangled Banner.
Gayle and I enjoyed our visit with them and will be heading the Shenandoah Valley on Wednesday. Fred, Joan, and Becka will depart on Thursday for the trip home.
